Just as his father turned to leave he told Cupid everything will be fine. So Cupid went on his way, with his arrows this time. He was so worried he might disappoint his father he thought he better practice before he goes out on his own.

He pulls out an arrow and aims at a tree. Boing! He hits the trunk. He turns around and pulls out another arrow. He aims at a knot on another tree.

Zing! His arrow sticks in the exact center. He dances with joy as he runs through the forest picking targets and shooting his arrows.

Cupid felt pretty good about his aim. He told himself he was ready. He went out in search of his first Valentine job. There they were sitting across from each other at a table in the library.
